Getting the Most out of your Digital Camera
Digital cameras are amazing in terms of the flexibility they offer but it can be daunting when learning how to use them well. We can easily become frustrated with our inability to get the best out of our digital cameras. This course will teach you how to do just that and offers tips and teaches techniques that will really help you.
Who is the course for?
Digital Camera owners (new and old) who want to learn how to take great photos and take control of the downloading, saving and printing process.
Course length,dates and price:
6 hours - two sessions of 3 hours duration between 10 am - 1 pm
The first course at the end of January was a great success and we all felt we had learnt a lot. New dates will soon be published for the next course. Please register your interest and you will be informed when the new date has been set.

To download, edit and produce great digital photographs
Objectives
By the end of the session students will:
-Understand the common settings on a digital camera
-Take photographs using a digital camera
- Download and save images to the PC
-Use imaging software to enhance images
-Understand how to print, email images and save to a memory stick
Session 1-
Understanding Digital cameras and their capabilities
Navigating the menus on the camera
Taking photos in different conditions
Transferring images to the computer and saving them in folders
Session 2 -
Reviewing cameras and downloading process
Simple editing techniques, such as adjusting brightness and colour, removing red eye and cropping the image
Sending images via Email
Printing
Previous knowledge/qualifications required by student:
Knowledge of WindowsXP or Windows Vista would be desirable but not necessary
Useful preparation before course:
Please bring your digital camera and its leads and manual to the sessions.
Try taking a few shots with your camera before the session.
Please make sure the camera battery is charged before the session or you have replacement batteries with you.
The course will be presented by Sue Phillips of Learning and Knowledge. The aim of Sue’s company is “to take the confusion out of using computers, helping you get the most from technology in everyday life”.
