Saturday Art Workshops
Painting with Water-Colours
The workshops will be led by Kay le Poidevin B.A.. Kay attended Winchester School of Art, studying colour with Patrick Heron R.A..
Kay’s painting is inspired by the coast and landscape. As a member of several art societies she exhibits regularly along the south coast and is an experienced art teacher. (Kay teaches in several mediums. Do let us know if you are interested in painting with oils or acrylics, or other mediums and, if there is sufficient interest we will be happy to put together a class.)
Suitable for beginners and also for those wishing to develop their skills.
The Saturday art workshops provide an opportunity to participate in a relaxing and enjoyable day, where you can give your full concentration to your enjoyment of painting, in the company of other enthusiasts.
If the weather is fine there will be the choice of working in the Hayloft, or of setting up in the garden or the woodland, which is a delight in all seasons.
The cost includes refreshments upon arrival and during “tea break” and a two-course, home cooked lunch. Special diets can be catered for if sufficient notice and details are provided.
Please bring your own materials and equipment if possible (details will be given at the time of booking)
New dates will be displayed soon. In the meantime please let me know if you wish to put together a private class for a group of friends and we will be happy to tailor a course to your needs.
The Saturday art workshops run from 10.30 am - 3.30 pm
Cost £50 includes a 2 course lunch
An opportunity to paint with water colours -for all abilities. The class will start with lessons on techniques, progressing to painting your own pictures, either in The Hayloft or outside among the beautiful surroundings at Bradgate Manor, in early Summer. Kay is experienced in teaching classes of mixed ability, so that beginners are helped with the basics whilst those with experience can enjoy the stimulation of practising new techniques, or improving existing skills.

Previous workshops
The workshops held so far have been great fun and participants learnt special techniques that enabled them to create some excellent paintings. The workshops in January and late April were enjoyed by all the participants and it was good to see how complete beginners progressed during the day and the more experienced artists picked up tips that helped them to improve their techniques.
